RE: Assignment 4 - Fiestas Patrias

A little bit late ^_^U
Because I'm not from Santiago, every long weekend I'd tried to return back to my home(land). And Fiestas Patrias wasn't the exception, at the fact that we have more, mmmm... Can I say "vacations"? With all the "paros" the Fiestas Patrias tended to be longer than other years, so I quickly bought the ticket and went back to "Constitución".

In my home, they hadn't vacations yet, so I spend most of the time alone in the afternoons, relaxing, playing some computer games (World of Warcraft) and watching some series and movies.

My mom works as a teacher in a public school, and I went with her to that school. That Friday 17 was a class-free day. I helped her to serve "Mote con Huesillo" to the childrens, and organize some trials ("carrera en sacos" the childs wear a potato-bag from below, and go jumping to the goal).

That's the mainly things that I did in Fiestas Patrias, without telling that I gained a couple of kilos from empanadas, asados y motes con huesillo (my favourite º¬º).

RE: Assignment 3 - A work of art

Recently, I'd found a website that I was looking for a long time. The site is http://gprime.net
I was wondering in this website two years ago, playing games and viewing flash animations, when I entered to the Image section. In there, I'd found an amazing gallery of chalk paintings:

The artist is Julian Beever and has been working on these type of drawing for about ten years. He has worked in the U.K., Belgium, France, Netherlands, Germany, USA and Australia. This original kind of painting is very popular, and Beever is really a tourist catcher. Also, Beever paints other types of paintings, like portrats (with oils and pastels), wall-murals and fine art paintings.

The website of Julian Beever is: http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/pave.htm

I hope you enjoy this paintings too, especially the optic-ilusion ones.
