RE: The Final Assignment!

The Final Assignment! ( The Final Judgement xD?)

Recently, the internet development and globalization has spread out, in a dizzy way, lots of information, making websites like blogs, photoblogs and news-webs more and more popular. This fact could put foward many uses/advantages or abuses/disadvantages of this kind of information source, and the possibles tools that websites might provide. By the way, I'll review the good purposes of using a blog in a educative way, with pros and cons mentioned above.

Althought the educational methods hadn't changed completely, the use of new technologies in the classroom is a fact. All information needed for homeworks, investigation works, tests, etc; could be find all over the world-wide web. In case of an English classroom, currently the english language is the most used, and the most common in all articles, websites and databases. Furthermore, the english is like dólar, the money of exchange in matters of publicity, cientific and social purposes. Very monopolized, to tell the truth.

The blog is such a powerful tool in terms of publication of information and personal references. Moreover, provides a great contact with other people and permits 'stay in touch' with important and influent people about a blog, ie. The teacher and his/her students. Despite of that, if there's not a good personally relation between the two parts in this type of interaction, this kind of technologies becomes a good threath to hide real personalities and intentions.

The colateral damage produced by technologies like this, are many. The people is free to post any information that they want and, in this way, not proving if the information is real or not. Furthermore, many scams and threath could be performed from there such like deceitful publicity, banking swindles, and copyrights robbery.

In terms of copyright, a blog (or other kind of writed webpage) could be object of plagiarism. In this way, is extremely important to know and show to the other people from where the information posted was extracted, and give the credits to the real author. Now then, the concept of a blog in an English classroom, well performed and avoiding the problems mentioned above, is a useful and innovant way to improve the grammatical and vocabulary language's parts, and for improve skills in creativity y spontaneity.

RE: Assignment 6 - Film Review

I'm going to review a movie, but also I'm going to recommend it. The Film's characteristics are:

Hauru no ugoku shiro (Howl's Moving Castle)
Japan, 2004.
Director: Hayao Miyasaki.
Producers: Rick Dempsey, Ned Lott, Toshio Suzuki.
Fotographer: Atsushi Okui.
Editing & Mounting: Takeshi Seyama.
Art Directors: Yôji Takeshige, Noboru Yoshida.
Music: Joe Hisaishi.
Duration: 119 min.

The
story begins when Sophie, 18-years-old girl and the main character, was rescued from a group of soldiers by Howl, a great, gentle and handsome wizzard. Sophie became charmed by Howl abilities, but that night a witch came to the store of his parents, and the woman cursed Sophie, ensnaring her in a 90-years old body. After that, Sophie run away from his home, leaving behind his family and become an exiled. In the journey, she finds a Moving Castle and 3 new friends: a scarecrow named Turnip head, a 8-years old boy named Markl, apprentice of Howl, and a Fire demon named Calcifer, the soul of the moving castle. Right here, the Sophie's journey for returning to her normal form begins, trying to break the curse.

This film was directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the director of movies like "Laputa: Castle in The sky", "Princess Mononoke", "My neighbor Totoro" and "Spirited Away (aka. El viaje de Chihiro). Spirited Away won an Academy Award for best Animated Feature in the year 2002 and Miyazaki worked too in the realization of "Heidi, Girl of the Alps", the famous animation of the year 1974.

All above, makes "Howl's Moving Castle" a really good movie, althought not the best movie of Miyazato but is still great to watch and and recomended for all people.

See you soon!

RE: Assignment 5 - Evaluate a classmate's blog

This time I want to describe, in my opinion, one of the best blogs of the class. I really like to surf the blog of Francisco, because all of his post are well writed and developed, and that shows that his english is very fluid. The facts of his post are well chosed, and the websites, articles and pictures are very interesting.

Some criticism may be, is the fact that his blogs isn't well updated for the assignment, but that counts for mee too ^^U. A post that grabbed my attention was the Fiestas patrias and the guitar tab page. I had surfed that page before, I and really liked it, instead of that a virus came to my computer but I was protected, luckily. About the fiestas patrias entry, I like to read and listen some experiences from other people, rather than tell one by myself. Always a funny story pull a laugh out of mouth in a friendly group, even is the group isn't drinking nothing xD.

That's was my review, see you soon!
