Fatherhood as a Personality Development Factor in Men, by Julia Borisenko. Kemerovo State University, Russia
The article shows a study about the fatherhood and his implicances in male's personalities. Like the role of the mother in child's development, the fatherhood involucrate many changes in both, the father and son. In case of mens, a good fatherhood refers to an active and emotional participation in the life an development of his child. The fatherhood also, is defined by a list of function: protection (breadwinner and protector), presentation (personification of authority, teacher, and supreme discipliner), mental (exemplification of imitation), and socialization (instructor in extra-familial social activity and relations, translator of social norms, figure providing a link between generations).
The men that are fathers, have many social obstacles. The manifestations of feelings in the mother is considered normal, besides, men usually occult their emotions toward their sons. The role of the mother is sacred in development of the child, taking the fatherhood in second place. In the role of breadwinners, the fathers expend too much time, so the interaction betwee father and son is poor these days.
The study focus his atention in the influence of fatherhood in the personality of men. Borisenko found, in the results of 2 experiments, that fathers presents more parameters like self-control, observance of behavior rules and norms, risks, suspiciousness, tolerance and responsibility. Also she found that fatherhood is socially determined and influenced by contextual components in the family and community, and the absence of the father is detrimental in child's development. Thanks to the study and his courses, the fathers improves their personalities too.

Hi Cristian,
This seems like an interesting study about fatherhood and the influence it has on the development of a man's personality. The idea that men who are fathers have more social obstacles than women who are mothers is especially intriguing. Thanks for your post.
